Sap Business One in Chicagoland: Implementation, Programming, Integration
This ERP fits to small and medium size businesses and it has pretty wide variety of features: Financials, Banking, Inventory, Sales, Purchasing, MRP and Production (or discrete manufacturing), service (with warranty contracts), HR, CRM. Licenses are per named user, where you can have full license or partial (limited to CRM and its web parts). We think that this ERP application fits to Chicago and Northern Illinois business. Let’s review why:
1. Light manufacturing or assembly features. SB1, having production module at the same time does not force you to spend too much time, entering your BOM and production orders. In Chicago area we see numerous businesses with bill of material requirements and these businesses are small. Chicago is perfect nationwide distribution hub
2. Packing and Shipping. Again, out of the box SAP B1 has pick and pack functionality, allowing you to track the record on what was shipped in the specific container or the box
3. Warranty contracts. We also recommend you to use them for Rental contracts, where you allocate or commit rented items to the contract in the form of Sales Order and at the end of the contract you cancel the sales order and return rentals back to available inventory. Warranty contracts allow you to serve items, sold under contract by incurring covered parts, labor and travel expenses or optionally you can bill these services to your customers
4. Disassemble Production Orders. This is not something commonly found in other MRP packages. Disassemble order allows you to take apart something specially manufactured and then returned and place components on the shelves
5. Client Relation Management or CRM. This module should be recommended to streamline your Sales processes. The nice thing about SB1 is the fact that it is integrated with the rest of this ERP and Lead naturally converts itself into the business partner, when opportunity is won
